Gazprom, China suspend Sila Sibiri-2 talks due to coronavirus

MOSCOW, Feb 13 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom has suspended talks with China both on the Western route of supplies, via the Sila Sibiri-2 pipeline, and deliveries from the Far East, because of the coronavirus, Gazprom Export CEO Yelena Burmistrova said on Thursday.

“Talks on the first Sila Sibiri project have been held for around 10–15 years, these talks had various phases,” Burmistrova said.

“Nevertheless, we continue discussing both the western route and possible supplies from the Russian Far East. As of now, these talks have been suspended for objective reasons until the necessary measures are taken by the government to solve coronavirus problems.”
